Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Microsoft Activation Script (MAS)
1. What is Microsoft Activation Script (MAS)?
- MAS is an open-source script (primarily PowerShell-based) that allows users to activate Microsoft Windows and Office products without a license key, using KMS (Key Management Service) or HWID (Hardware ID) activation.
2. Is MAS legal?
- MAS itself is a script, not a crack. However, using it to activate paid Microsoft products without a valid license may violate Microsoft's Terms of Service. It is intended for educational purposes or testing in environments where activation is allowed (e.g., enterprise KMS).
3. Does MAS work on all versions of Windows and Office?
- MAS supports Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Office 2016/2019/2021/365. However, success may vary depending on Microsoft's updates.
4. Is MAS safe to use?
- The official version from massgravel (GitHub) is open-source and generally considered safe. However, be cautious of modified versions from untrusted sources, as they may contain malware.
5. Does MAS require an internet connection?
- Yes, for KMS activation, an internet connection is needed to connect to a KMS server. HWID activation for Windows 10/11 also requires internet access initially.
6. How do I use MAS?
- Download the script from the official GitHub repo, run it as administrator, and follow the on-screen instructions to choose between KMS or HWID activation.
7. What’s the difference between KMS and HWID activation?
- KMS Activation: Temporary (180 days), requires renewal.
- HWID Activation: Permanent (binds to hardware), only for Windows 10/11.
8. Will MAS work after a Windows reinstall?
- HWID activation remains valid after reinstall if the hardware doesn’t change. KMS activation needs to be reapplied.
9. Can MAS activate Microsoft Office?
- Yes, but only via KMS activation, which requires renewal every 180 days.
10. Does MAS bypass Microsoft Defender or antivirus?
- Some antiviruses flag MAS as a "hack tool." You may need to temporarily disable Defender or add an exclusion.
11. Why is MAS not working after a Windows update?
- Microsoft may block KMS servers or HWID activation methods. Check for an updated version of MAS.
12. Can Microsoft detect and ban me for using MAS?
- Unlikely for individual users, but enterprise environments may face compliance issues.
13. How do I remove MAS activation?
- Run the script and choose the "Uninstall" option, or use Microsoft’s official activation reset tools.
14. Is there a way to activate Windows without MAS?
- Yes, via official licenses, volume licensing (KMS), or retail keys.
15. Where can I download MAS safely?
- Only from the official GitHub repository:
